Kalonzo Musyoka's led Wiper party has for the first time clarified why they withdrew the direct ticket they had handed former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko who is seeking to contest for the Mombasa gubernatorial seat. While speaking during an interview on Citizen TV, Wiper National Election Board Chairperson Agatha Solitei stated that they were informed of another candidate who came in late and expressed his decision to vie on the party's ticket.
Wiper party has now appealed to IEBC after locking Kalonzo Musyoka to contest on August presidential election denying claims of support other candidates. Wiper claims that they had done what it takes to adhere to all IEBC requirements. Hours after Kalonzo Musyoka's name was left out of the presidential aspirants' list released by the IEBC, Wiper party has faulted the electoral body.
