Justice Daniel Musinga, President of the Court of Appeal, has convened a seven-judge bench to hear the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) case. The case against the BBI will be heard between June 29 and July 2. Musinga is one of the seven, along with Justices Roselyn Nambuye, Hannah Okwengu, Patrick Kiage, Gatembu Kairu, Fatuma Sichale, and Francis Tuiyott.

In a well-attended assumption of office ceremony conducted at the Supreme Court of Kenya building, Justice William Ouko handed over the Sceptre and instruments of office to the incoming president of the Court of Appeal Justice Daniel Musinga. So far the Appellate Court has been spared the infighting that has characterized the relationship between the Executive and Judiciary.
Judge Daniel Musinga was sworn in yesterday, Friday June 11 as the president of the Court Of Appeal. Justice Musinga was elected by the Court Of Appeal judges on May 24, 2021 to replace Justice William Ouko, who was elevated to Kenya's apex court, the Supreme Court.
The judiciary is made of courts at all levels,all the way from supreme Court to the magistrate court. Each level has a leader, the the supreme Court is led by the Chief Justice while the court of has its on president who is elected by the judges at that level.
