Five Members of Parliament allied to Deputy President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party have been de-whipped fro National Assembly committees by the Jubilee party leadership in the house. According to a report by Citizen TV, the move comes at a time when the party is preparing to revamp itself ahead of the August general elections.
Allies of Deputy President William Ruto have been kicked out of leadership positions in several House committees. Catherine Waruguru, a member of the Laikipia Woman MPs, was dismissed from the Committee on Agriculture and Livestock, where she also served as Vice-Chairperson. William Kipkemoi Kisang, MP for Marakwet West, has been dismissed of his duties as chairman of the Committee on Information, Communication, and Technology.
