The firebrand Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa , assaulted a contractor on Friday as the contractor tried to prevent him from commissioning the classes he had built until he was paid. Honourable Barasa was in the area to commission some classes which had been built using the National Government Constituency Development Fund.

Today during the daily briefing on the state of Covid-19, the cabinet secretary for health Mutahi Kagwe expressed fears over the increased postive cases of Covid-19 in the country. He has warned politicians from organising political gatherings as these might act as areas for spreading the virus. This comes after the country today, recorded the highest number of postive Covid-19 cases of more than 1600 from a sample size of about 5800 people.

Leaders from the Western region are embroiled in a vicious battle to gain political mileage during President Uhuru Kenyatta's tour that begins on Sunday. Governors are making efforts to have control of the three-day tour that will see the President launching and restarting several projects across the four counties.
The handshake between Uhuru and Raila has in the last few years been speculated as a plot by Uhuru to hand over power to the Former Prime Minister as next year's Elections approach. While president Uhuru has never made it clear whom he will be Supporting in 2022, he has been hinting at backing Raila as his preferred succesor.

The schools have been opened for the 2021 academic calendar.This time,there will be only 30 weeks instead of the usual 39 weeks during term one.The Government is optimistic of normalising the school calendar by January 2023. The schools are also preparing to host the new form one students who are expected to report to schools next week.All plans are complete for their stay in schools even as the Principals cry foul of lack of enough facilities such as classrooms and boarding facilities.This time,close to a half a million more students will join form ones as compared to the previous year.
