Kenya’s Literacy Level To Climb Up As CBC for Adult And Continuity Education Out Soon

From the UNESCO publishes 2000-2021, the literacy rate in Kenya stands at 81.54% making the country to be ranked in position 106 worldwide ahead of Congo, Republic and Ghana at 80.30% and 79.04% respectively. This literacy level is about to climb up the ladder after fresh reports uncover that the directorate of Adult and Continuity Education in Collaboration with the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development KICD has begun curriculum reforms that will see youths and adults develop literacy skills.According to the report shared by Education News Kenya, the new reforms are in line with the Competency-Based Curriculum CBC in the formal sector and will address the needs of the adult and youth learners, aimed at improving the quality of their learning.
