There are many teacher training college in our country. Some of the tutors are hardworking and have taught for several years. Unfortunately, some of them have passed away after contracting different diseases like Covid-19. This virus have killed millions of people around the world. It is so painful to lose a parent through Covid-19 infections.

The Government is changing the Education system with a hope of changing the lives of the millions of students in the country.The new system is expected to instill practical skills rather than promotion of rote knowledge in the society. As the Government changes the Education system,teachers too have to be updated since they are the ones who are supposed to implement the curriculum.The TTCs are currently training the teachers on the new curriculum.This will see the teachers get trained for three years in a Diploma course.
The plans by the government to equip the schools with the required resources is ongoing.The Government recently supplied the grade four textbooks to schools.By the time the students will open schools on 26th July,they will find all the books that they need in schools.At the same time,the secondary schools students are expecting the new setbooks to be in schools next term after the Government having sourced for those who could tender the supply of these books.
Ministry of education CS George Magoha on 29th September 2020 announced the official re-opening dates of Universities, Colleges, and TVET for final year students. Re-opening of Universities Final year students in different Universities are required to report to their respective schools on 5th October 2020. Students in other years will have to wait for their University council or senate to announce the dates when they will re-open.
Majority of the 2020 form four candidates are at home just waiting to join different colleges.Over 140,000 of them were lucky to have got the university grade of C+.However, majority never made it as per their dreams. The TVET colleges are preparing for September intakes as well as the universities.Many students are expected to join the technical and business colleges to advance their studies for future job security.

Last year,the ministry of education changed the Teachers Training College (TTC) course that has been used for years.The Primary Teachers Education (PTE) became invalid as from December when the last group of the same sat for their national examinations. Teachers Training Colleges now will be taking Diploma in Primary Teacher Education ( DPTE); a course that will be taking three years.

Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development has unveiled a list of new English literature and Kiswahili Fasihi set books. At secondary level English literature books are, Fathers of Nations by Paul B Vitta published by Oxford University Press , Parliament of Owls published by East Africa Educational Publishers, and A silence Song and other stories published by Spotlight The first one is a compulsory set while the latter two are optional.
A The 2021-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement between teachers and its employer is set to benefit classroom teachers.This is unlike the former CBA where only school administrators and managers benefitted from the agreement.The new CBA is set to kick start from July this year 2021.
The awaited KCSE results that was concluded on 21st of April has finally been released today by Education CS Prof George Magoha at Mitihani House.He says that the performance was impressive despite the challenges of COVID-19 pandemic.He has announced that the best student is Simiyu Robinson Wanjala from Murang'a High School with a total of 87.77 points (A plain).
