The government of Ethiopia and its allies has achieved decisive military victory over the terrorist group in Tigray and neighbouring regions. It has regained control of areas which were infiltrated by TPLF. President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived in Ethiopia and was received by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. His visit comes as Ethiopia continue to fight Tigray rebels which have been waging a bloody war against the government forces. The war has killed thousands, forced millions from their homes and left hundreds of thousands in famine.
The Ethiopian government-backed troops have made significant advancements in their quest to liberate all regions that are in control of the TPLF. Ethiopia's state television reported that the government troops had captured the town of Chifra from the retreating TPLF. However, scores of civilians were reported to have been caught in the crossfire and the town was left largely deserted by the residents who fled after the heavy gunfire fearing for their lives and safety.

The drums of war seem to be beating louder by the day. A confident-looking Aiby stated in a video shared to the state media that the government-backed troops are in high spirit and that they had made significant advancement in the Afar region where it was allegedly a TPLF stronghold.
Tigray region is also known as Region 1 as per the federal Constitution. It's the Northern regional state in Ethiopia homeland to Kunama, Tigray and Irob people. The total population (based on the 2020 census, CSA) is 7,070,260. The highlands having the highest population density, especially central and eastern Tigray.

The national police service issued a statement yesterday warning kenyans to be vigilant following the fighting that is currently going on in Ethiopia between the Addis Ababa adminstration with various rebel groups, most notably the Tigray liberation movement.
