Despite its expansion in 2019, the Outer Ring road has become the killer route and it is currently the deadliest in Nairobi. The Public Finance Management (National Road Toll Fund) Regulations 2021 seeks to establish the National Roads Toll Fund.These toll fees will affect those who own vehicles.They will be required to pay service fee for accessing the highways. The regulations seek to implement the Public Roads Toll Act, Cap 407, which guides the imposition of toll fees on major national roads.The Public Roads Toll Act empowers the Transport Cabinet secretary to declare any road or a portion, including any bridge or tunnel on a public road, as a toll road.

Two people have died and two others critically injured in road accident along Thika road, Nairobi County. Thika road traffic police officer David Wesley said the Saturday morning accident involved two private cars and Thika road Sacco matatu. David said the accident at Githurai happened after Thika road Sacco matatu which was cruising at a high speed veered off the road and rammed into two personal cars along the busy road.
