Military forces in Sudan have on Monday, October 25, 2021 staged a Coup and taken the Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok in custody. According to various reports, the PM is under House arrest with soldiers surrounding his home and family. According to a local TV house, Al-Hadath TV other members of the country’s civilian leaders are also under arrest.
According to the information ministry, Sudan's military has placed Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok under house arrest after transferring him to an unknown location for refusing to assist a coup attempt. Five senior government figures, including Industry Minister Ibrahim al-Sheikh, Information Minister Hamza Baloul, and Mohammed al-Fiky Suliman, member of the country's ruling transitional body, the Sovereign Council, as well as Faisal Mohammed Saleh, Hamdok's media adviser, and Ayman Khalid, governor of the state containing Khartoum, were reported to have been detained.
Sudan has been a nation under constant instability since the famous ousting of Omar Al-bashir back in 2018.
