Earlier this week on friday there had been a stir online after with mixed reactions after reports emerged of a launch of a school gate worth 3 million. With many criticizing the presence of a cell in the gate and the money involved. According to a report by one Simon Wafula to the star, Bungoma Highschool in Kandunyi constituency, Bungoma county has launched a modern school gate worth Ksh 3 million.
Bungoma High School is a giant school in the western region for posting exemplary KCSE results together with extracurricular activities for many years.The school has proud old boys such as Kenneth Lusaka.The school is on the Spotlight for constructing a school gate that has costed three million.For the school to build the gate it had to raise Ksh 2000 from each parent as well as wellwishers.The main objective of building the gate is to improve school security.As reported,no visitor will be allowed to the school without going through all the protocols at the gate as it will help minimize theft and drug supply in the school.The gate has giant metallic doors,a spacious office for the security guards as well as washrooms for the visitors to the school.Notable feature that the gate harbours is the special room which will be used as a detainment cell where law offenders will be kept before they are handed to the nearest police station.Source(Tuko news)

A sombre mood was witnessed at Sacred Heart Mukumu Girls high school before schools closed following the death two students in Kakamega County. According to the Western Region Coordinator of Education, Stephen Barongo, the ministry of education has sent its official to investigate the death of the students after claims emerged that they died of malaria.

One of the students had a pre-existing condition and reportedly passed away while receiving malaria treatment. The other reportedly experienced problems following an operation, her condition and the reason for the operation are unknown. Investigators from the Ministry of Education have been dispatched to Mukumu Girls High School to look into the deaths of the two girls.
