Kenyans have taken to social media with mixed reactions after a youthful officer was gunned down by an armed civilian they had gone to arrest. According to the source, the officer identified as Simon Orangi had gone to arrest a civilian but was shot before the arrest was executed.

A mission to investigate an assault case that was filed by an alleged victim in Turkana turned fatal after the implicated man retreated to his hut only to emerge brandishing a fully loaded AK-47 rifle which he later used to shoot at the officers who were executing their mandate. Police officer was on Sunday morning shot dead by an armed civilian who he had gone to arrest at Kooni village, Turkana County. Police said the incident happened on Sunday morning at around 21/11/2021 at 11am at koono village just few kilometres from the police station. According to Police Constable Robert Maina service number 250404 who led the case of assault which had been filed by Awaar Esekon under OB number 33/18/11/2021, said he they toured the home of the suspect to arrest him, accompanied by police constable Simon Orangi service number 235951 and Police Constable Maxwell Okwanya of service number 253815.
