Trade Investment and Industry Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has been in the limelight in recent days concerning the importation of 10 million bags of maize. Kuria had said earlier that the government will allow the importation of Genetically Modified Organisms GMO maize for a period of six months. This resulted in legislators mostly from maize-growing areas threatening the CS if he will go ahead and issue a gazette notice to allow that importation.
