ODM senatorial candidate Oburu Oginga has emerged the winner in the Siaya senatorial race in the 2022 election. In results announced by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission official on Friday, August 12, Oginga, the brother to Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga, garnered 285,595 votes.
Ruth Odinga, who is Raila's sister has won the seat for Kisumu woman Representative with massive votes of 304293 compares to close competitor valentine Otieno who only got 80117 as quoted by citizen tv. This has brought different reactions from kenyans putting in mind her brother oburu oginga is the current senator of siaya county.
Sometime back, there was an uproar on social media about Raila's close relatives vying in Nyanza region. However, they came out and said that just like other Kenyans, they have rights to vie and their decision is not connected to their brother. From the look of things, one of them, Ruth Odinga might win the women representative position in Kisumu county.
