Isuzu East Africa is this month celebrating the production of 100,000 vehicles at its Nairobi assembly plant since 1977. The company’s chief executive Rita Kavashe talked to the Business Daily on the significance of the milestone, the company’s investment plans and the impending changes in Kenya’s automotive sector.

Reactions As Isuzu Honours Kipchoge With Limited Edition Models
Kipchoge became the first man to ever complete a marathon under two hours in a specialised race organized by British multinational chemicals company Ineos. He clocked 1:59:40 to achieve the target. Isuzu East Africa Managing Director Rita Kavashe said the new model is to celebrate the achievements of Kipchoge who recently lowered his world record by 30 seconds.

Isuzu East Africa has made a new D-Max pickup in honour of Eliud Kipchoge, who holds the world record for marathons. At an event on Tuesday at the Isuzu East Africa offices in Nairobi, the company released a limited edition Eliud Kipchoge 1:59 D-Max. This was done to honour Kipchoge's sub-two-hour marathon time of 1:59:40, which he ran at the INEOS challenge in 2019.
