The days to the general elections are elapsing, 56 days to the ballot. Major parties, mostly Orange Democratic Movement and United Democratic Aliance, did their primaries early in April. Cornel Rasanga has declared that residents will only receive medical services if they show proof of voter registration. The directive targets all Siaya residents aged 18 years and above seeking medical services at any of the public County hospitals.

The commission is now conducting the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration Phase II, an exercise that commenced on 17th January, 2022 and will end on 6th January, 2022.
