User At least 2000 households in Lamu county have received relief food distribution by the Lamu County Government. Those receiving the food aid, mostly maize flour are from villages hard hit by drought including Mapenya, Hongwe, Mkunumbi, Ndambwe, Moa, Witu,Pandanguo and other areas.
A team part of the Kenya Defense Forces personnel(KDF), drawn from 5 Kenya Rifles(5KR)has warmed the hearts of Kenyans. This is following their ongoing charitable services. They have and still offering to residents of Witu and Pandanguo in Lamu County.
User At least Sh55 million has been set aside by the County Government of Lamu to help mitigate the effects of drought. The money will be spent as follows; Sh30 million will go into the provision of relief food and other humanitarian assistance to be distributed to all the needy residents affected by the ongoing drought.

User The Boni minority community in Pandanguo Village in Lamu West have accused the government of neglect in reconstructing their only road in the area which is in its worst state. The 21 kilometre Pandangu-Witu road is the main connection to the remote Pandanguo Village from other parts of the county and country.
