Residents of Unjiru hamlet in Mathira West sub-county were shocked when the spouse of a 20-year-old nurse from Tumutumu PCEA hospital was stabbed to death. After arriving home from work on Sunday, Lydia Nyaguthii's husband, Mr. Stephen Muriithi, violently stabbed her numerous times. Following a domestic dispute with his first wife, Muriithi was reportedly taken into Tumutumu Hospital in a wheelchair after he was burned with hot substances that resulted in severe burns.
