Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) successfully detonated a deadly explosive device that suspected al-Shabaab militants had planted on Kenyan soil, targeting to inflict the military with pain. According to reliable sources, al-Shabaab had planted the deadly explosives on Kenya Defence Forces' main supply route (MSR) at BP-27 near Hassan Kohoti within Boni Forest, in Lamu County.
