Treasury Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndung'u has announced that all payments for government services will be made through eCitizen. Following the implementation of the government's Digital Payments Programme, service payments will be made using the official paybill number 222222. "The government has developed the eCitizen.go.ke Digital Payments Platform, through which citizens and other individuals will be able to pay for government services," Prof Ndung'u stated in a Gazette notice.
