The Intergovernmental Technical Relations Committee (IGRTC) has been called to solve a land ownership dispute between the Couty Government of Bungoma and the Lake Victoria Water Works Developement Agency (LVWWDA). The Couty Government of Bungoma is accused of building or rather constructing a 150 million Dairy processing factory on National Government Land set aside for the Ministry of Water Sanitation and Irrigation.

Governor H.E Dr FCPA Wycliffe Oparanya has congratulated Commissioner Margret Siamoya on her appointment as the first woman to head the Salvation Army Western Territory. Dr Oparanya said it was encouraging that most established churches were giving opportunity to women to serve in leadership positions. He noted that her appointment comes barely few months after the Anglican church appointed Bishop Rev Rose Okeno to head Butere Diocese as the first woman in Kenya to occupy the position.
