An armed robber was shot dead by police in Nairobi on Tuesday afternoon as he attempted to rob a bank. The thug armed with a knife gained entrance into Equity Bank, Nairobi West after opening the back door. The police officers who rushed to the scene following a distress call combed the area in search of the suspects who had already raided the bank.
Nairobi West is infamous for many things - alcoholism, drug abuse, skulduggery, daylight drunkenness, wantonness, twilight girls and much more. It's a district that has long distinguished itself for its lascivious behavior and open lust for runaway fun and cheap thrills - with entire streets dotted with countless Liquor stores and dinghy bars.
Earlier on this afternoon, reports streamed in that an Equity Bank branch had been attacked by armed robbers who were out to make away with the money as per the reports that we have with us. However, the incident was very vague as there has been no communication from the authorities who was at the scene during the robbery this afternoon.

Kenya Power and Lighting Company team based in Nairobi West have reportedly led an operation to disconnect illegal power connection in Soweto village, Kibera. Two transformers which had been connected at the place illegally were recovered and disconnected. The residents were left in darkness and later advised to visit Kenya Power container office at AMREF for facilitation to get proper power connection.
