The National Assembly Committee on Finance has fined Petroleum Cabinet Secretary John Munyes Ksh.500,000 for failing to appear before the commitee to answer queries over the hike in fuel prices. Munyes wrote to the committee indicating that he is in South Sudan on official duty. Tending to the matter, the committe administrator Gladys Wanga said their report will likewise show that Munyes has been uncooperative.

The rise in the cost of fuel has caused mix reactions in the parts of the country. A few days ago, the body mandated to regulate the prices of fuel increased the cost of Petrol, diesel and paraffin. This increase has really affected the motorists and this will eventually lead to the hike in fares.
The pain of fuel prices is expected to continue in the country after Keter and Munyes failed to appear before the Senate to declare why the rate of fuel increased in the country.
