There are heavy and widespread demolitions ongoing in Mukuru kwa Njega slums and this is being undertaken by the government to pave way for the construction of a new road.
On Monday, October 11, the Nairobi county government has started demolitions within Mukuru kwa Njenga slum and its adjacent areas to pave way for the construction of the Nairobi Expressway. James Kianda, Nairobi Regional Commissioner affirmed that those residing along the slum were issued a notice beforehand to vacate the premises.
The police officers are still searching for a man who allegedly killed his girlfriend, Monica. The scene happened in Mukuru slums of Nairobi county, Kenya. Narrating the scenario; Monica had informed the police officers about his boyfriend's illegal way of hustling. But the reports later reached Monica's boyfriend.
