A police officer is in custody on charges of attempted robbery with violence. The officer, Denis Mokua Monda, stationed at Kwanza police station in Kitale, was flushed out of his hideout in Nairobi. Mokua was arrested along with four other suspects. According to a police report, the officer has been absconding from duty and he is also believed to have been aiding criminal gangs by hiring his firearm to them.
