On Monday, October 25, protests erupted in Moi University after lecturers took to the streets to make their grievances public. While speaking to the media, a unionist lamented that the teaching staff had not been paid for the last three months while the school's farm workers were yet to receive their 13 months salary.

The lecturers and the non teaching staff have unpaid salaries for over one and half years although they have been working to provide services to the students at the institution.
Moi University Main Campus have announced their strike immediate 25th October 2021. They are helding the meeting at Moi University Administration and Senate Building. The unions that have met include KUTHEA, UASU and KUSU. Some of the tabled grievances include lack of pay.They attribute lack of pay to corruption activities of Finance Department of Moi University Main Campus.

Death has struck Moi University again after the death of Robert Siambe and Leon Mutwiri. Robert Omagwe Siambe was a ￼Fourth Year Student pursuing Travel and Tourism course. He succumbed early this morning to heart complications. Until his death Robert was a student at School of Tourism, Hospitality & Events Management.
