Miriam Muthoni from Nyahururu has painfully narrated how she slept with a man for six good hours without knowing that he was HIV positive and now she is on ARVs because she contracted the virus. According to Miriam she was raised by a single mother after her father died during the 2007 elections,she says that life was not easy since she had to drop out of school to help her mother do manual work to be able to pay rent and buy food.

Miriam Muthoni was born and raised in Naivasha in a family of six children. Her father had previously died and her mother did ordinary jobs to provide for them. She finished her primary education and she failed to join highschool due to lack of school fees. She helped her mother out with housework and she went to different homes to wash clothes for money.

The family of Leah Wangari Maina, a Kenyan working in Iraq as a househelp is worried about her whereabouts after being unable to reach her on phone the whole of this year. Leah went to the country in search of greener pastures October 2021. She last talked to her family on 31st December 2021 and complained that she was being mistreated and forced to work in 4 houses.

The family of Leah Wangari Maina are currently living in uncertainty of what befell their daughter who left and headed to Iraq in search of greener pastures. According to family member who spoke with TUKO news, Ms Wangari left Kenya in October, 2021 but they were unable to speak to her for the whole of this year.
