Netizens have been left in surprise after pictures of a Kenyan police officer in the Traffic department receiving a bribe from a matatu conductor in broad daylight surfaced online. According to photos and details shared on the Standard Digital's Facebook page on Saturday, the lady officer manning traffic along the Migori-Isebania was spotted by a Standard Media group photographer stopping the public service matatu before picking the bride from the conductor.
In our country, there are many police officers who are supposed to protect citizens. Furthermore, the traffic officers are not allowed to receive any coin from Matatu. These cases of corruption have been witnessed in the country. Furthermore, many people have died in our roads because of corruption by some individuals.
A section of Kenyans have blasted Standard Media after one of their photographers took a photo of a Traffic Police Officer allegedly taking bribe from a PSV Matatu conductor. The report that was earlier made public by the Standard Media Group alleging that the female traffic officer was receiving bribe from the matatu operator along Migori- Isebania route has been received by negative criticism from the netizens. Photos by the SMG shows the female officer receiving a handshake from the conductor and later on allowing the matatu to pass.
