According to SRC Chair Lynn Mengich , the move is intended to harmonise allowances paid in the public sector where some employees are paid allowances way higher than their basic salary.

The Kenya Salaries and Renumeration commission(SRC) has delivered somewhat of a blow to Kenyan Civil Servants as it has announced that there will be no Salary increment for Government workers in the upcoming financial year starting 1st July 2021.
