Deputy President William Ruto’s UDA Party has lost in the just concluded Nguu Masumba by elections. The Makueni ward by elections voting was carried out the entire of Thursday and voting exercises ended minutes past 7pm. The top 3 Candidates included Wiper’s Eshio Maundu Mwaiwa, UDA’s Daniel Kivuva Musau and Independent Candidate Timothy Maneno.
For very many years, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has been hitting hard at Deputy President William Ruto. He has not been giving the Second in Command peace and even as the country heads to the 2022 general election, Kalonzo has always maintained that one of his agendas is to defeat Ruto.
Voters in Nguu/Masumba Ward today returned to polling stations to elect a new County Assembly Ward rep following the death of Harrison Ngui in June 2021. The by-election has 3 candidates Timothy Maneno (Independent), Eshio Mwaiwa (Wiper) and Daniel Musau (UDA). Including is in progress in all surveying stations in the 34 surveying station and the votes will be delegated either legitimate or dismissed.

In the recent Nguu/Masumba by-elections which took place today Thursday 15 October 2021 in Makueni county, independent Candidate Timothy Maneno has won the election. Governor Kivutha Kibwana who helped the candidate greatly during his campaigns took to the social media to celebrate the win by Timothy Maneno. "I congratulate the People of Nguu/Masumba Ward for their determination to uphold democracy.
Makueni Governor Professor Kivutha Kibwana and who was alleged to drum up his support for Nguu/Masumba by election Indepedent candiadte Timothy Maneno has spoken. Kibwana said that the results of the yesterday's mini poll shows that the Ukambani Region is now chanting its political route without influence from political parties.

Moments after the final results of Masumba By Elections were released, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has finally responded to the results. The results saw Independent Candidate Timothy Maneno carry the day by managing 43 percent of the votes. Maneno was followed by UDA's Daniel Musau.Wipers Mwaiwa was third in the results.
Nguu/ Masumba has finally decided. According to Dennis Itumbi, the preliminary results reveal that Timothy Maneno who is an independent candidate has finally taken the lead by garnering 2,894 votes which is 43% of the total votes. Daniel Musau the UDA candidate got 2,223 and the Wiper candidate got 1,601 votes which is 24%

The By Elections saw an independent candidates defeating both Wiper and UDA candidates with a slight margin. UDA party associated to DP Ruto has managed to have influence in the grassroots politics.

The by elections came as a result of the the death of Harris Ngui who died from a road accident.
Independent electoral and boundary commission is a designated body mandated to handle election in concurrence to the 2010 constitution. It is the only body responsible to handle free and fair credible election,it has consistently presided over two general elections since it's formation under the leadership of Wafula Chebukati as the chairman.

Wiper Democratic Movement party boss Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, through his SKM command center, issued a statement concerning the just concluded Nguu/Masumba ward by-election. The former vice president has conceded defeat after his candidate came third and last position behind United Democratic Alliance party's Candidate and Independent candidate Timothy Maneno.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Monday, October 12, announced the suspension of voter registration in four counties. In an assertion released by the IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati, the commission reported that it has called off the registration of voters in Kiambaa constituency and three other devolved units.
Locals in Nguu/Masumba in Makueni County headed to polling stations on Thursday to vote for their new ward representative. The seat fell vacant following the death of MCA Harrison Ngui. Ngui perished in a road crash on the Mombasa-Nairobi highway in June. All the 34 surveying stations across the ward opened their entryways soon after 6 am and recorded long lines toward the beginning of the day hours.
