The accident which occurred at Mithini bridge, along the Machakos - Kitui highway happened on Thursday morning. According to Citizen TV digital, the fourteen seater vehicles were racing before colliding and causing an accident which seriously injured four of the passengers in the three public service vehicles.

Early this morning a road accident has occurred involving 3 vehicle that were racing against each other. The three 14-seater Matatus were over taking each other and later collided at Mithini bridge along Machakos-Kitui road in Machakos County. According to the police reports the Matatus loose control and then rammed into a nearby herd of cattle killing 18 cows.
