TSC Sends More Teachers to Terror Prone Boni Forest in Lamu

User The Teachers Service Commissioner (TSC) says it has already sent extra teachers to the six schools situated in terror prone Boni Forest villages in Lamu East Sub-County. The government last year ordered the schools which include Mangai, Basuba, Milimani, Mararani, Kiangwe and Bodhei Junction to be reopened after several years of closure owing to frequent Al-Shabaab attacks that marred the region between 2014 and 2015.

Over 100 Children in Boni Forest Suffer From Diarrhea, Bilharzia

User Diarrhea,bilharzia and skin disease outbreak has been reported amongst children in the five villages found in Boni Forest in Lamu County. The villages where more than 100 children have been affected by the diseases include Kiangwe, Basuba, Mangai and Milimani. The diseases are believed to be majorly contributed by consumption of dirty water by the locals especially since the drought season began.
