Kenyans are now back to their normal businesses after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission announced William Ruto as president elect. Many had been anxious but following the announcement, they have been seen back at their places of work. This happens as messages of congratulations continue streaming in with head of states of different countries among those who have reacted.
The national assembly members, senators, and governors who had just been elected were chosen as the leaders. Alongside them were leaders of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, including Moses Wetangula of Ford Kenya, Dr. Alfred Mutua of Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC), Hon. Justin Muturi of the Democratic Party, Musalia Mudavadi of the ANC, and Dr. Alfred Mutua, a former Machakos governor (DP).
Today, all elected Kenya Kwanza political leaders came to meet with Dr. William Samoei Ruto, the nation's next president. On Tuesday, August 9, Johnson Muthama, the chairman of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), lost the Machakos governor's race. Wavinya Ndeti of the Wiper party defeated him with 226,609 votes, becoming the governor-elect after obtaining 37,980 votes. With 129,181 votes, Chama Cha Uzalendo's Nzioka Waita placed second.
Wavinya Ndeti; a former chief administrative secretary (CAS) for transportation and infrastructure has been elected governor of Machakos. Ms. Ndeti received 226,609 votes on a Wiper Party ticket defeating Nzioka Waita of CCU who got 129,181 votes and Johnstone Muthama of UDA who got 37,980 votes.
