Citizen TV Staff who died, while others were hospitalised following food poisoning during the Christmas period is due to be transported to her home for burial, at Lurambi in Kakamega. Royal Media Services, a Kenyan Media House reported suspected food poisoning of its staff, on 25th of December 2022, which happened after the company hired a private catering to prepare meals for workers who were on duty during Christmas.

The five people died on the spot, nine others injured after matatu they were travelling in rolled several times at Lurambi, Kakamega County. Police said that the vehicle was heading to Mumias.
