High court jails ex-college student for 40 years for stabbing ex-girlfriend, school bursar to death

The High Court has jailed a former college student for 40 years for stabbing his ex-girlfriend, school bursar, to death in Lira City. The suspect; Calvin Alele, 30, was charged on Monday after proving his guilt for killing Scovia Amule in 2019. The court heard that Alele during the month of January 2019 while at Kabalega market in Dokolo District with full knowledge illegally stabbed Amule to death.

It might seem hilarious how female traders are accused of facilitating road accidents despite them being on their routine businesses. It has now emerged that authorities in Uganda have banned businesswomen from sitting in driver’s cabins as a move to minimize road accidents caused by tracks. According to a popular news site in Uganda, “The Monitor,” the decision was reached after a grisly road accident that happened on 19th January 2022, killing nine people in Lira City.
