EACC Cracks The Whip on Homabay County Officials Over 85 Million Fraud

EACC to brass Officers from the dreaded ethics and anti-corruption commission have today raided Homabay County and effected arrests of six senior officials over their involvement in fraudulent transactions with the devolved unit amounting to Kenya Shillings 85 million. According to the commission, the implicated officials were directly trading with the County which is tantamount to conflict of interest.

Anti Corruption Commissions Reveals The Arrest Of Two County Officials Over Ksh. 85 Million

Two senior Homa Bay County Assembly officials are among six individuals who have been arrested by the relevant authorities in connection with Ksh.85 fraud. In a statement gave on Monday, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission CEO Twalib Mbarak said those captured are chiefs or are straightforwardly connected to Nyangume Enterprises and Damila Enterprises and will be charged on Tuesday.

According to the report obtained from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), three Home Bay County Government officials and three suppliers have been arrested over KSh 85 million fraud at the county. Report from EACC’s Chief Executive Officer Twalib Mbarak indicates that the officials and suppliers conspired to ensure they irregularly receive multiple monthly salaries and used companies associated to them to steal public funds.
