Kisumu Boys and Kisumu Girls' are some of the renown academic giant schools in Nyanza region and Kisumu County in particular. However, these national schools are currently facing allegations that there location in Kisumu CBD is of no economic value. These allegations have been backed up and fostered by the Kisumu county governor, Prof Anyang Nyong'o who said that, the current location of the two institutions did not align with the plan to make the lakeside city a commercial hub, therefore, should be relocated.
Kisumu governor Anyang Nyongo has made it clear he was on his way to demolish Kisumu boys school for according to him, the school adds no value being in the city vicinity. The governor is clear a city must be an economic hub and not a place to establish schools.
