A few days ago, students of Kipsigis Girls High School went on strike in the middle of the night and the school had to be closed the following day.

The students of Kipsigis Girls' High School early this morning flooded the highway in their numbers in protest of the new principal occupying the office after their beloved principal was transferred to the other school. Breaking the 4 am cold, the students of prestigious Kipsigis Girls High School went on a rampage demanding to speak to the Kericho county commissioner. The students are displeased with the transfer of the long-serving and successful principal Juliana Kirui claiming that the new principal doesn't match her.
Kipsigis Girls is one of the best performing school in Kericho County. Kipsigis Girls High School is a National Girls Boarding School located 5 kilometers from Kericho town in Kenya. On Sunday October 24, 2021 the school was indefinitely closed down due to students riots. Students demonstrated after their principal Madam Julianna Kirui was transferred to Moi Girls High School in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu county.
The kipsigis Girls High School in Kericho has been closed down ,some hours after over 1200 students went on strike ,and went into the streets of Kericho at around 4am , because they were against the transfer of the principal. School principal Madam Juliana Kirui was transferred to Moi Girls High School which made the students strike .
Litein Boys High School in Bureti sub county has been closed indefinitely after students went on rampage last night. Litein National School joins Kipsigis Girls High School, Kericho Tea, Chemamul and Kericho High School which were recently closed following cases of student unrest in the South Rift.photo courtesy
