Kimilili Member of National Assembly commonly referred to as Mps, Hon. Didmus Barasa was on the morning of Thursday August 11th announced as the Re-elected member of Parliament for the Kimilili constituency by the presiding officer. Didmus Barasa managed to garner a total of 26,000 votes while his closest competitor Mr. Brian Khaemba of DAP-K party came second with a total of 9,000 votes.

Didmus Barasa, the MP for Kimilili, suffered a setback shortly after keeping his seat when the Independent Electoral Boundaries (IEBC) issued a new demand. On August 11, the Kimilili Constituency Returning Officer refused to give the election certificate to Barasa's agent, insisting that the MP come in person to receive it.

Didmus Barasa; the newly elected MP for Kimilili has been instructed by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to pick his own nomination certificate. While declaring Didmus the winner of the MP race at St. Lukes Kimilili tallying centre, the constituency's returning officer George Omondi refused to issue his agent the nomination certificate.
