Thika: Maragua Police Arrest Lorry Driver Intercepted Ferrying 2 Stolen Fresian Cows Worth Kshs250k

Police in Maragua have arrested the driver of a lorry intercepted ferrying 2 Friesian cows worth 250K in Thika, Kiambu County. Police said that the domestic were allegedly stolen from Samar village. Further interrogations, police established that the driver hails from Makongeni estate in Thika. The police said the arrest of the suspect followed a public outcry by Thika residents.

Tension is high in Kerio Valley after four herders have been killed by bandits leaving several injured. The attack happened at Kapkobil grazing field where 60 heavily armed bandits suspected to be from their neighbouring county where they took hundreds of livestock. The Elgeyo Marakwet County Police Commander, Patrick Lumumba stated that the bandits ambushed the herders by shooting them with live bullets.
