AG Set For Another Court Battle as He Claims To Have Crucial Evidence Linking Top Lawyer With Murder

Kihara applied to be allowed to appear in the case where lawyer Hari Gikanya is accused of forging false documents to try and steal Ksh 100M property that belonged to Belgian Widow Dysseleer Mireille Lesoipa who was murdered in 2018.
Attorney-General Kihara Kariuki who doubles up as president Uhuru Kenyatta’s advisor on legal matters and Karanja Kibicho have once again found themselves in a compromising situation following a warrant of arrest that was issued by the high court in a matter touching on security issues. It is alleged that the two were ordered to pay a petitioner close to 6 million a few years ago but failed to honor the court ruling.
Ministry of Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i has fired back after the High Court Thursday ruling that declared the Huduma Exercise illegal issuing fresh details. According to the High Court ruling, Justice Ngaah ruled that "An order of mandamus is hereby issued compelling the government to conduct a data protection impact assessment in accordance with Section 31 of the Data Protection Act before processing of data and rolling out the Huduma cards" hence declaring the issuance of Huduma numbers an illegal process.

Top International Lawyers have expressed optimism that they would wish to be enjoined in the BBI case. Most of the top notch lawyers in the international platform want to join the case for most are of the view that the basic structure of the constitution exist in Kenya. It's not clear of whom wants to bring international lawyers into the BBI case but it's clear they have two weeks to know of whether they will be enjoined in the case.
Nairobi-based lawyer Charles Kanjama has lodged an appeal seeking the endorsement and setting aside of some findings of the appellate court regarding the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI). Mr Kanjama's case raises the number of appeal to four, the other appellants being Attorney-General Kihara Kariuki, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and lawyer Omoke Morara.
