Kenya Wildlife Service Director-General Brigadier John Waweru who was appointed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2019, has been sent on compulsory leave and replaced by Wildlife Secretary Erastus Kanga in acting capacity. Waweru has been sent on compulsory shortly after attending the handing over ceremony of Principal Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife.
