Rangers Camp Razed to Ground by Rowdy Mob

The Kenya Forest Service (KFS) rangers camp was burnt down by rowdy mob in Gacarage earlier in the day. According to a report published via there Facebook page, the KFS disclosed that the incident was triggered by the arrest of two illegal loggers who were apprehended by the forest rangers. "The unfortunate incident followed the arrest of two men who were found logging trees and burning charcoal in Kilosa area about 12KM from the camp," read a section of the report. Angry Youth Storm KFS Station in Nakuru And Burn Down Six Houses

A section of angry youth reportedly stormed the Kenya Forest Service station in Kuresoi North Nakuru County and burnt down six houses belonging to the KFS officers. A high court in Bungoma has stopped the government from evicting Chebombai Community members from Mt Elgon forest. The environment and land court Judge Boaz Olao on May 24 ordered the government never to evict petitioners and other Chebombai community members from land parcel numbers North Malakisi/North Wamono. The court also ordered that all parcels outside the cutline between Cheptais forest and Chebombai area must not be interfered pending the inter-parties of this application.

Trans Nzoia police corporal Gilbert Mbilivili,has been apprehended after being caught ferrying charcoal and aloe vera using a police lorry. Gilbert was transporting seven bags of charcoal and sixty five bags of aloe vera on a police lorry along Kapenguria-Kitale road without proper documents.
