Kenya Cadet Officers are recruited to provide Leadership, guidance, decision making and managing the Defense Forces in the country. The Cardet Officers are involved in a 17 months training in the Military College including practical soldier skills and military fields of study. One of the Kenya Defense Forces officers that died recently in a chopper crash, was laid to rest in his Kitui South home earlier today. The soldier who worked as a Technician with the Kenya Air Force was mourned as a dedicated soldier who put others before himself.

On Wednesday, July 21, President Uhuru Kenyatta visited a multi agency team of Kenyan security officers undertaking joint operational training in Boni Forest, Lamu County. The FTX, which is coordinated by the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) brought together troops from the different security formations in the country among them Kenya Police Service (KPS), National Youth Service(NYS), Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and the Kenya Coast Guard with a view of attaining high levels of operational efficiency.

Couple of days ago, eleven Kenya Defense Forces Officers lost their lives at Ol-Tepesi Ngong after their plane developed mechanical issues. The plane crashed and all soldiers inside died. They are yet to be buried. In another similar occurrence, a Philippine Defense Forces caught fire while landing.

Here are the names and ranks of Kenya Defense Forces' Officers who recently died in a helicopter crash when they were training. Senior Private Thomas Shekeine- He was the youngest in that crew. Thomas worked as a flight attendant and he was among the pilots propelling that helicopter before it crashed.
Speaking during the burial of Senior Sergeant Stephen Omaran Omale, one of the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) officers who perished in a fatal plane crash, Mi 171e Air Force Helicopter, at Chebukwabi village in Kimilili, Barasa revealed that he was dismissed from the army after trying to help his colleagues secure loans.
A shooting and marksmanship competition held courtesy of Site systems Ltd and Seagas Ltd presented an opportunity for military, police, media houses and corporate organizations ladies only to battle it out and display their prowess.
