IEBC And National Assembly Sued For Revoking Campaign Financing Rules
Two Lobby groups the AFRICOG and Katiba Institute have taken to court and petitioned the decision that was actioned by Kenya National Assembly incapacitating guideline issued by the IEBC in regard to Campaign Financing. The lobby groups have sued both the IEBC and National Assembly in what they have argued as the two bodies have kicked out the campain financing rules and this decision is a risk to the integrity of the forth-coming August General elections.
Chief justice Martha Koome has opposed case challenging uhuru's refusal to appoint six judges.
In her grounds of opposition to the court, Koome says the case filled by Katiba institute is bad in law, fatally defective and an abuse of the court process. The petition by Katiba was filled last year in june when the president had refused to appoint 41 judges but last month they filled a new application when the president left out six judges from the list.
