Yesterday, the Saint Cecilia church in Kitui lost about 20 members to a tragic bus accident. This came in after the bus which they were using was swept away by a flooded river in Mwingi. According to reports, these church members whom most of them were the church choir were going for a wedding within Kitui county.

Photo used for illustration It was an emotional event today at Makueni county during the final send off of the late Stephen Kangethe, the driver to River Enziu tragedy bus.However Kangethe was laid to rest together with his colleague Wanzala Okinda who was a popular catholic member in Kitui seminary church.It was an event attended by hundreds of people including the Catholic Diocese of Kitui.Indeed individuals expressed their emotional tributes towards the deceased, as they recognize their passion in their work.Kang'ethe will be remembered for his perfection as a driver as well as focus on religious matters.Several religious leaders from different counties were also present during the event.In addition the area administration, residents and journalists also attended the burial ceremony.The occasion was however held with strict adherence to covid-19 protocols.Popular Catholic Bishop however presided over the mass before laying them to rest.Some individuals however sent their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased even in their absentia.May this great heroes rest in peace.
