A 45 years old senior teacher at Kagere Primary school in Othaya, Nyeri County set himself ablaze in his house after struggling with mental illness brought about by alcoholism. According to reliable reports, Kiruga Gikonyo (the deceased) had the habit of drinking a lot and turn out to be violent which made him set his house on fire and lock himself in it burning him to death.
