Bad News To Cherera And Other 3 IEBC Commissioners As Parliament Makes The First Move To Remove Them
Today, the IEBC vice Chairperson Mrs Juliana Cherera and the other three IEBC commisioners have been handed some bad news. This came in after reports emerged that the parliament has made the first move to remove them from their posts over what they did during the last general election.
Independent electoral boundaries commission chairman Wafula Chebukati has been greatly criticised in the presidential elections.It all started when his fellow IEBC members led by the vice Chairperson Julian Cherera disowned the presidential elections.Now,according to the reports from the Chairperson, Julian Cherera was of the opinion that the over 200,000 votes were a small margin and that they could manipulate them to become spoiled votes.
The Independent Electoral And Boundary Commission is mandated to organise and conduct free and credible elections in Kenya after every five years. The mandate is derived from the constitution of Kenya 2010. The Commission is under the leadership of chairperson and seven commissioners who serve are appointed through a competitive selection process.

Azimio leaders have now come out vehemently against the news after Dr. William Ruto, the current Deputy President, was named the new President-elect on August 15 by IEBC head Wafula Chebukati. The commission needed six days to total and check the votes cast at various polling places.
The IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati has declared William Samoei Ruto to be the winner. He will now ascend to the presidency after the wearing has occurred. Numerous Kenya Kwanza leaders have already sent him congratulatory messages. However, a few minutes prior to the release of the results, the Azimio One Kenyan Agency published a statement in which the Chief Agent, Saitabao Kanchory, admitted that they had proof that the IEBC systems had been manipulated.

The source asserts that because the application was submitted late by the four commissioners, Supreme dismissed it while the matter was still pending.

Four petition has been filed in Parliament to remove the four IEBC commissioners. IEBC vice chairperson Julian Cherera led three other commissioners to dispute William Ruto’s win. The move has come back to haunt them as four petitions have been filed, accusing them of failing to adhere to the leadership and integrity act.
