Methodist Churches of Kenya leadership wrangles seems not to come to an end. The church which has been rocked with leadership dispute for long as resulted into ousting the current sitting Bishop Rev. Joseph Ntombura and immediately replaced him to a caretaker committee which will be headed by Interim Presiding Bishop Stephen Kanyaru.
The Church has landed in trouble for giving a platform to politicians to bring politics in church as the politicians in turn leave a huge donation. Methodist Church Presiding Bishop Joseph Ntombura spoke about his church welcoming politicians and receiving gifts and huge donations. Bishop Ntombura speaking from Meru said politicians are welcome to visit Methodist church saying the money they bring to the church does not go to any individual but will be used by the church for different projects.
A group of Methodists in Meru has launched an attack on their presiding bishop, Joseph Ntombura, whom they accuse of destroying the church. The leaders who assembled on Monday, July 26, 2021, want the church to devolve and decentralize its power, as opposed to how bishop Ntombura is allegedly handling the house of God.
