Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Leader and former Prime Minister Hon Raila Odinga and Governor H.E Dr Wycliffe Oparanya have assured sugarcane farmers that they will revive the ailing sugar sector. The leaders told residents of Mumias that they were aware of their suffering following the collapse of Mumias Sugar factory, their main source of livelihood, and assured them that they were determined to awaken the plant.

Residents of Mumias West Constituency were left talking after being treated to a broad day drama.The incidence occured on Thursday May 13, during the launching of the newly built Musanda Market.The constituencie's Member of Parliament, Hon.Johnson Naicca got in a confrontation with his Musanda Ward Representative, Paul Ashiachi, few minutes after the process began.

This revalations were made by a parliamentary score card released on Wednesday morning by Mzalendo Trust ,a parliamentary Monitoring organisation (PMO) The organisation raised concerns about the two legislators,whom they said have consistently failed to make contributions at the plenary thus the organisation said their performance undermined the role of the house .
