Makueni County Commissioner Mohamed Ahmed Maalim has been transferred to Rift valley
Valley as the new Regional Commissioner following George Natembeya's resignation. Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho, through a notice on Wednesday, stated that the transfer was to be effected immediately. Additionally, Kibicho announced that Isaiah Aregai Nakoru, who was serving as the Eastern Regional Commissioner had been transferred to Western Region as the commissioner.

On Wednesday, George Natembeya having resigned as the Rif Valley regional Commissioner to focus on his political ambitions, of becoming the governor of Trans Nzoia county the principal secretary for Interior and Security Dr. Karanja Kibicho has appointed a new regional commissioner. The resignation of Natembeya has led to several transfers all over the country so that to have a new Regional Commissioner of the Riftvalleybregion.
